Seeing Red
Today is World AIDS Day.
When is there going to be an United States AIDS Day, or a Canada AIDS Day, or a France AIDS Day, or...need I go on? I feel like everyone (in general) overlooks the problems in their own back yard while working very hard on the comradery of solving whatever “world” problem is the flavor of the week. And that’s just it. We work on the comradery and not the issue. Celebrities and politicians unite! Get your photograph taken smiling and shaking hands with other celebrities and politicians. Go on Oprah! Get interviewed by Geraldo! Woohoo! That’s the way to get whatever solved/eradicated.
I am not a heartless individual. I do feel for individuals that have diseases, are homeless or just plain down on their luck. I just think that we need to take care of our own backyard instead of sending thousands and millions and billions of dollars to other countries. And that includes buying RED.
Have a nice weekend.
